Our first conceptual design this semester involved making a series of pants based on a hardware item, then sewing one of the pants into a garment. I got... this thing. I still don't know what it is.

For our final in Patternmaking I, we were each given two sayings. From these sayings we had to figure out the meaning, origins, et cetera, and use one of those sayings to design 5 summer tops. We would then produce the pattern for one of the tops and sew it into a real garment ( Read more... )

Fashion Design I's first conceptual design project was to design two groups of 5 tops based on a painting. I was given René Magritte's "Le Mal du Pays", or "Homesickness".
